In Re Application of Elizabeth Read, for benefits of her Reparte Earnings}
In the Court of Common Pleas of Luzerne County
To the honorable the Judges of the said court
The Petition of Elizabeth Read respectfully showeth that she is the lawful wife of I.K. Read and that it is the intention of Petitioner here after to claim the benefits of the act of assmbly approved April 3d 1872 allowing the Reparate Earnings of a married woman from what ever source acquired to become her own in direction[?] property subject only to her own control petitioner therefore prays that her Petition maybe [sic] marked filed and directed to be recorded and that she may be decreed to enjoy the benefits of said act she will ever pray.

Elizabeth Read being duly sworn says she is a resident of Luzerne County and that the facts set forth in the above and foregoing petition are true.

Now May 1st the petition of Elizabeth Read under act 8 April 1872 is directed to be marked filed and to be recorded in the office for recording deeds in and for Luzerne County and here after it is decreed that the said Elizabeth Read shall be entitled to her separate Reparate Earnings from what ever source acquired and the same shall ensure to her Reparate lawful and control can not be subject to any legal claim of her husband or his creditors.

Covenants: Lot is subject to a mortgage of $1,500 dated 27 March 1893 recorded in Mortgages Book 79, page 193 in favor of Lewis J. Lewis and is subject to a Judgement Note in favor of James I. Ribble for $800. Grantee assumes the mortgage. The grantor retains life interest in the property, the use and occupancy, excepting mineral rights.
