                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Me (Esther Doyle Read) on the left and my sister Martha on the right. We are the children of Robert Leroy Read and Alice Janet Gaines. This photo was taken when I was 5 or 6 and Martha was 2 or 3. I remember having this photo taken as it was the first time I ever wore make-up. I had fallen off (actually been pushed off by my best friend) the top of our sliding board. There were lots of bruises, cuts and scrapes. This happened a day or so before the photo was suppose to be taken, hence the make-up to cover the damage! I still have a small scar on the base of my chin.
