1247. BRADLEY I. MARTIN6 (Jerry E. Martin5, Benjamin F. Martin4, Lydia Read3, John Read2, Joseph Read1) was born circa 1902 in New Jersey, probably in Stillwater Township, Sussex County and died unknown. He was probably named after his great-uncle, Philetus Bradley Martin. Bradley lived with parents in 1910 and attended school (1910 United States Federal census, Enumeration District 184, Stillwater Township, Sussex County, New Jersey, sheet 8A, 4 May 1910). In 1920, he lived in Stillwater Township, Warren County, New Jersey on a dairy farm owned by his father. Bradley was a laborer on the farm (1920 United States Federal Census, Stillwater Township, Sussex County, New Jersey, Enumeration District 141, sheet 1B, 5 January 1920). Bradley married circa 1927, Hazel M. Last Name Unknown. She was born 10 July 1902 in New Jersey and died February 1979 in Newton, Sussex County, New Jersey (Social Security Death Index). In 1930, Bradley and Hazel resided in Blairstown with their daughter Jean and son Charles. They lived on Main Street in either an apartment or a duplex. They rented their home for $18 per month. Bradley was employed as a cook for a private school which probably means that he worked for Blair Academy (1930 United States Census, Enumeration District 21-4, Blairstown, Blairstown Township, Warren County, New Jersey, sheet 3A, 4 April 1930).

CHILDREN OF BRADLEY I. MARTIN:

3024. (i.) JEAN M. MARTIN7, was born September (?) 1927 in New Jersey. Jean was probably named after her grandmother, Martha Jean Staley Martin. She appears on the 1930 census as a child age 2 years and 7 months. In 1930, she lived with her parents and brother Charles in the village of Blairstown (1930 United States Census, Enumeration District 21-4, Blairstown, Blairstown Township, Warren County, New Jersey, sheet 3A, 4 April 1930). Jean is listed as a survivor in the 1934 obituary of her brother Jerry Martin (Blairstown Press, 10 May 1934).

3025. (ii.) CHARLES R. MARTIN7, was born January 1929 (?) in New Jersey. Charles appears on the 1930 census as a child age 1 year and 3 months. In 1930, he lived with his parents and sister Jean in the village of Blairstown (1930 United States Census, Enumeration District 21-4, Blairstown, Blairstown Township, Warren County, New Jersey, sheet 3A, 4 April 1930). Charles is listed as a survivor in the 1934 obituary of his brother Jerry Martin (Blairstown Press, 10 May 1934).

3026. (iii.) JERRY MARTIN7, was born after the 1930 census, probably in New Jersey and died 3 May 1934 in Easton Hospital, Easton, Northampton County, Pennsylvania. He was probably named after his grandfather, Jerry E. Martin. Jerry died as a young child and was buried in Stillwater Cemetery, Stillwater, Sussex County, New Jersey. His obituary was printed in the Blairstown Press on 10 May 1934:

Jerry Martin, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Martin, died at Easton Hospital last Thursday at 1:45 p.m. of pneumonia, after an illness of two weeks.

The funeral was held at the home of his parents. Rev. C.B. Munn officiated and interment was in the Stillwater cemetery. He is survived by his parents and one brother and one sister, Charles and Jean Martin.
