2109. HAROLD D. OSMUN5 (Charles Irving Osmun4, Sarah Ann Read3, David Read2, Joseph Read1) was born April 1898 in New Jersey, and died 1954. Harold appears on the 1900 United States census as a 2 year old living with his parents in Knowlton Township (1900 United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 191, Knowlton Township, Warren County, New Jersey, Sheets 6A-B, 25 June 1900; Cedar Hill Cemetery). Harold lived with his parents in 1910 and attended school. He was the only one of Charles and Sarah's children who was still in school (1910 United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 133, Knowlton Township, Warren County, New Jersey, Sheet 4B, 28 April 1910).

Harold married circa 1917, his second cousin once removed, (1382) ADA D. ALLEN6, the daughter of Edwin Mackey Allen and Jennie C. Brinkruff5 (Mary Catherine Read4, Samuel Cooke Read3, Aaron Read, I2, Joseph Read1). She was born 22 June 1897 and died 16 July 1993 (Allen 2001; Ramseyburg Cemetery; Social Security Death Index). Like Harold, Ada grew up in Knowlton Township. She first appears on the federal census in 1900. She lived with her parents and her two brothers (Clarence and Edward "Cline") on a rented farm in Knowlton Township. Ada was three years old and was not yet in school (1900 United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 191, Knowlton Township, Warren County, New Jersey, Sheet 8A, 28 June 1900). Ada's family lived in a renter house on Valley Street in the village of Delaware in 1910. By the time of the 1910 census, her brother George "Prall" had been born. He was 11 months old when the census was enumerated. Ada's father worked in the local feed store and as a farm laborer. Ada (who was 12) and her brothers Clarence and Cline were in school (1910 United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 133, Knowlton Township, Warren County, New Jersey, Sheet 1A, 15 April 1910).

Ada and Harold were married in about 1917. This marriage ended in divorce after 1930. During the course of the marriage they had five children: Fred, Charles, Ralph, Dorothy and Jennie. In 1930, Harold and Ada lived on RD1 Delaware in Knowlton Township, Warren County. They owned a farm valued at $5500. The family also owned a radio (1930 United States Federal Census, Knowlton Township, Warrren County, New Jersey, enumeration district 21-13, sheet 3B, 8 & 9 April 1930). According to Ada Allen's nephew Ralph Allen (2001), after Harold and Ada divorced she took her two daughters and moved in with her brother Prall Allen. Prall's wife Gladys died in 1937. She left behind three children: Leora, Eldon and Edward (known as "Eddie"). Ada kept house for Prall, her two daughters and her neice and two nephews. Ada and Harold's sons stayed on the farm with their father.

After Harold and Ada were divorced, Harold married Marion D. Allen. She was born 4 January 1909 and died July 1989. Her social security number was issued in New Jersey during the period 1954 through 1955 (Cedar Ridge Cemetery; Social Security Death Index); just after Harold died. Harold and Marion are buried in Cedar Ridge Cemetery, Jacksonburg, Blairstown Township, Warren County, New Jersey Their grave was field checked on 10 October 2004. Ada died in 1993. She resided in Hampton, Hunterdon, County, New Jersey at the time of her death (Social Security Death Index). She is buried with her parents in Ramseyburg Cemetery, Delaware, Knowlton Township, Warren County, New Jersey. Her grave was field checked on 15 April 2005. A Ladies Auxilary VFW flag was placed with her grave.

2082. (i.) H. FRED OSMUN6/7, was born 29 March 1920 probably in Knowlton Township, Warren County, New Jersey. In 1930, he lived with his parents on their farm in Knowlton Township and attended school. According to the census he was 10 years old (1930 United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 21-13, Knowlton Township, Warren County, New Jersey, sheet 3A, 8 April 1930). He married Roberta M. Van Horn, the daughter of Frank E. and Cora K. Van Horn. Roberta was born 17 August 1925 and died 28 September 2003 (St John's Cemetery; social Security Death Index). In 1930, Roberta lived with her parents and three siblings in Hope Townships. She was four years old. Her siblings included Charles (age 8), Margaret A. (age 6) and Elizabeth Van Horn (age 2) (1930 United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 21-11, Hope Township, Warren County, New Jersey, sheet 4B, 8 April 1930). The Osmuns resided in Columbia, Knowlton Township, Warren County, New Jersey when Roberta died in 2003. She is buried in St. John's United Methodist Church Yard (a.ka. Old Moravian) in the village of Hope, Hope Township, Warren County, New Jersey.

2083. (ii.) CHARLES E. OSMUN6/7, was born circa 1922 probably in Knowlton Township, Warren County, New Jersey and died 28 February 1945 in Ardennes, France. In 1930, Charles was 8 years old. He lived with his parents on their farm in Knowlton Township and attended school with his brothers Fred and Ralph (1930 United States Federal Census, Knowlton Township, Warren County, New Jersey, enumeration district 21-13, sheet 3A, 8 April 1930). During World War II, Charles enlisted in the United States Army. He held the rank of Sergeant in the 22nd Infantry, 4th Division. He was killed in the Ardennes Forest of France on 28 February 1948. Charles is buried in the Ardennes American Cemetery, Neupre (Neuville-en-Conolroz), Belgium in plot B, row 7, grave 7. He was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star (Serial number 42109169; American Battle Monuments Commission; National World War II Memorial).

2084. (iii.) RALPH R. OSMUN6/7, was born 29 January 1924 in New Jersey. In 1930, he lived with his parents on their farm in Knowlton Township and attended school. The census gives his age as 6 (1930 United States Federal Census, Knowlton Township, Warren County, New Jersey, enumeration district 21-13, sheet 3A, 8 April 1930). He married Marion J. (Last Name Unknown). She was born 18 September 1923 and died 19 December 1987 (St. Johns Cemetery, Social Security Death Index). The Osmuns resided in Columbia, Knowlton Township, Warren County, New Jersey when Marion died in 1987. She is buried in St. John's United Methodist Church Yard (a.ka. Old Moravian) in the village of Hope, Hope Township, Warren County, New Jersey.

2085. (iv.) DOROTHY OSMUN6/7, was born circa 1928 in New Jersey. In 1930, She lived with her parents on their farm in Knowlton Township. She was two years old and was not yet in school (1930 United States Federal Census, Knowlton Township, Warren County, New Jersey, enumeration district 21-13, sheet 3A, 8 April 1930). According to her first cousin Ralph W. Allen (2001), after her parents divorced (post 1930), Dorothy lived with her mother and her sister Jennie in the home of her Uncle Prall Allen.

2087. (v.) JENNNIE OSMUN6/7, was born after 1 January 1930, she does not appear on the 1930 census (1930 United States Federal Census, Knowlton Township, Warren County, New Jersey, enumeration district 21-13, sheet 3A, 8 April 1930; Allen 2001). According to her first cousin Ralph W. Allen (2001), after her parents divorced (post 1930), Jennie lived with her mother and her sister Dorothy in the home of her Uncle Prall Allen.
