Issac R. Konkle was born 6 June 1819, in Hardwick Township, Sussex (now Warren) County, New Jersey and died 9 February 1901. He was the eldest child of John B. Konkle and Mary Read. Isaac married Sarah Ann Hankinson on 18 September 1843. She was known as "Sally Ann" and was the daughter of Thomas Hazen Hankinson and Elcy Ann Newbaker. She was born 13 February 1820 near Middlesville, Stillwater Township, Sussex County, New Jersey and was baptised 2 February 1823, in the Stillwater Presbyterian Church, Stillwater, Sussex County, New Jersey. Sarah died 14 April 1915. They were buried in Stillwater Cemetery on the southwestern edge of the village of Stillwater. The photograph to the the right is an overview of the grave stone. Below are close ups of the individual inscriptions for Isaac and Sarah. In addition, there is a closeup of a second side of the grave stone which includes a poem. All photographs were taken by Esther Doyle Read on 14 April 2005 in Stillwater Cemetery. Isaac and Sarah's plot includes the graves of their daughter Mary A.
