Mary Ann Tunison was the daughter of Tunis H. Tunison, Esq. and Mary Ann Rockafeller of Mansfield Township, Warren County, New Jersey. She married Samuel "Johnson" Konkle on 28 March 1850. The wedding service was performed by the Rev. John H. Townley of the First Presbyterian Church of Hackettstown in Warren County. They had been married a little over four years when Johnson died on 1 August 1854. At the time of his death he and Mary had two daughters (Carrie and Mary Elizabeth) and were expecting their third child (Samuel). Johnson was buried in Egberts Methodist Episcopal Cemetery in Bethel, Mansfield Township. Mary Tunison Konkle married John Snover Ball in 1863 as her second husband (and as his second wife). Ball owned a hotel in the village of Marksboro. They had one son together—William H. Ball, who was born in about 1866. John Snover Ball died 25 March 1886. Mary continued to make her home in Marksboro until her death in 1907. Click on the image to enlarge it.
