DENNIS FAMILY ALBUM
Sarah Elizabeth Read was the eldest child of David Read and Mary Hawk. She was born 22 July 1832 and died 11 April 1929. She married David Wilson Dennis on 30 January 1854 in Stillwater, Sussex County, New Jersey. David was the son of John Dennis and Mary Wilson. He was born 2 January 1824 and died 10 October 1873. They are buried in the Dennis family plot in Stillwater Cemetery in the village of Stillwater. There graves were visited on 14 April 2005. The photograph to the left is of the Dennis plot. The entrance is marked by two pillars, one marked D and the other W, with a stone step between them. Sarah and David are buried here as are two of their infant sons (John and Martin) and several of their adult children and their spouses, and two of their grandchildren. The later include David R. Dennis, Thomas W. and Violetta L. (Dennis) Thompson, Albert M. and Flora L. (Dennis) Van Sickle, Edith (Van Sickle) Cottrell and Albert W. Van Sickle. The photograph was taken 14 April 2005.

Between David and Sarah's graves are stones for their two sons who died as infants. Martin's stone is between his parents's stones and John Ogden's stone is in front of Martin's stone. Both stones have a lamb at the top and are much smaller versions of adult stones (see overview of the entire family plot above). Both were photographed on 14 April 2005. Martin's stone is shown to the right and is inscribed:

John Ogden Dennis's stone is inscribed:
