3120. MARY M. MARTIN5 (Walter E. Martin5, Benjamin F. Martin4, Lydia Read3, John Read2, Joseph Read1) was born February 1885 in Wilton Township, Muscatine County, Iowa and died 1968. Her parents moved to Sweetland Township, Muscatine County in 1892, when she was about seven years old (1900 United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 110, Sweetland Township, Muscatine County, Iowa, sheet 7A, 18 June 1900; Muscatine County GenWeb; Richman 1911:585). Mary appears on the 1900 census as age 15, living at home with her parents in Sweetland Township, Muscatine County and attending school. According to the census, she attended school six months out of the year (1900 United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 110, Sweetland Township, Muscatine County, Iowa, sheet 7A, 18 June 1900). She married circa 1907, Henry L. Paul. He was born 7 August 1884 in Iowa and died Mach 1970, probably in Iowa (Richman 1911:585; Social Security Death Index). His father was from Germany and his mother was a native of Iowa. In 1910, Mary and Henry lived with their daughter Ina Faye in Montpellier Township, Muscatine County. Henry was a farmer, but he did not own the land he was working (1910 United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 105, Montpellier Township, Muscatine County, Iowa, sheet 2B, 18 & 19 May 1910). A 1919-1920 directrory of Muscatine County lists Henry Paul, wife Mary and children Ina, Lyall and Alethia as residents of a farm near Fairport. Henry was a farmer and he owned 120 acres. The family had a telephone through the Independent telphone company and subscribed to the The Farm Journal (Wilmer Atkinson Company 1919; Wilmer Atkinson Company also published The Farm Journal). The couple's address was given on the 1920 census as Fairport Rural Route in Montpellier Township. The Pauls owned their farm Free and clear of mortgages. Henry's occupation was given as "operator/ general farm" (1920 United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 116, Montpellier Township, Muscatine County, Iowa, sheet 1B, 3, 5 6 June 1920). By 1930, the family owned a radio. Henry was still employed as a farmer in Montpellier Township and the family still owned their farm (1930 United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 70-9, Montpellier Township, Muscatine County, Iowa, sheet 1A, 2 April 1930). Henry's final residence (in 1970) was the city of Muscatine, Muscatine County, Iowa (Social Security Death Index). Mary and Henry are buried in Parr Cemetery, Pleasant Prairie, Fulton Township, Muscatine County, Iowa (Muscatine County GenWeb).

Mary M. Martin and Henry L. Paul had 3 children, born betweeen 1909 and about 1915. Total identified descendants equals 3.

3134. (i.) INA FAYE "Peg" PAUL7, was born February or March 1909 in Muscatine County, Iowa and died unknown. She appears on the 1910 census as a 13 month old child living with her parents on a farm in Montpellier Township, Muscatine County (1910 United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 105, Montpellier Township, Muscatine County, Iowa, sheet 2B, 18 & 19 May 1910). In 1920 she lived with her parents on their farm on the the Fairport Rural Route. She and her brother Lyall attended school (1920 United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 116, Montpellier Township, Muscatine County, Iowa, sheet 1B, 3, 5 6 June 1920). She graduated from Muscatine High School, class of 1926. The school year book gives her nickname as "Peg" (Auroran 1926). By 1930, Ina was 21 years old. She still lived at home with her parents, was single and unemployed (1930 United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 70-9, Montpellier Township, Muscatine County, Iowa, sheet 1A, 2 April 1930).

3135. (ii.) LYALL A. PAUL7, was born 8 July 1913 in Iowa and died 23 November 1992, probably in Iowa (Social Security Death Index). In 1920 and 1930, he lived with his parents on their farm in Montpellier Township, Muscatine County. The 1920 census gives their address as the Fairport Rural Route. Lyall attended school during both census years (1920 United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 116, Montpellier Township, Muscatine County, Iowa, sheet 1B, 3, 5, 6 June 1920; 1930 United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 70-9, Montpellier Township, Muscatine County, Iowa, sheet 1A, 2 April 1930). He graduated from Muscatine High School, class of 1932. The school year book gives his nickname as "Paul" (Auroran 1932). Lyall's final residence (in 1992) was Muscatine, Muscatine, Iowa (Social Security Death Index).

3136. (iii.) ALETHEA ELIZABETH PAUL7, was born circa 1915 and died unknown. In 1920 and 1930, she lived with her parents on their farm in Montpellier Township, Muscatine County. The 1920 census gives their address as the Fairport Rural Route. Althea attended school during the 1930 census years (1920 United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 116, Montpellier Township, Muscatine County, Iowa, sheet 1B, 3, 5, 6 June 1920; 1930 United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 70-9, Montpellier Township, Muscatine County, Iowa, sheet 1A, 2 April 1930). She graduated from Muscatine High School, class of 1933 (Auroran 1933).
