He lived with his parents in 1880 on their farm in Blairstown Township, Warren County, New Jersey and attended school (1880 United States Federal Census, Blairstown Township, Warren County, New Jersey, enumeration district 191, sheet 285B, 4 June 1880). Albert married, Mina Ervey, the daughter of Elmira Ervey. Mina was born July 1872 in New Jersey and died 1961. In 1900 the Reads were residents of Deckertown in Sussex County, New Jersey. The families last name is spelled R-E-I-D (1900 United States Federal Census, Sussex County, New Jersey, Index). The 1920 census continued to spell the family's last name as R-E-I-D. In 1920 the Reids lived in Stillwater Township, Sussex County, New Jersey. Albert was the manager of a dairy farm. He was a wage employee and did not own the farm. The family was renting a home in the Stillwater area. Albert's father lived with Albert and Mina. Doris died in 1987, her final residence was given as Florham Park, Morris County, New Jersey. Albert and Doris are buried in Cedar Ridge Cemetery, Jacksonburg, Blairstown Township, Warren County, New Jersey. Their graves were visitied on 10 October 2004.
