358. FREDERICK MARSHALL "FRED" KINNEY,4(Catherine Read3, Aaron Read2, Joseph Read1)
was born 21 July 1846 in Warren County, New Jersey (LDS Batch# 8514203; Newberry c1934; 1850 United States Federal Census) and died 14 May 1928 in Lathrop, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania (DiPetro 1998a; Scott Fritzen 1998). In 1850, Frederick (as he is named in the census) lived on his grandfather Aaron Read's farm with his parents. The farm was located in Blairstown Township, Warren County. Frederick was 4 years old and had not yet begun to attend school (1850 United States Federal Census, page 455). In 1855, his grandmother, Peggy Cooke Read died. His family moved out of his grandfather's home and moved onto a farm of their own in Blairstown Township, possibly in Walnut Valley (Newberry c.1934). Frederick still resided with his parents in 1860 (United States Federal Census, Blairstown Township, Warren County, New Jersey). The family moved again in 1864 to Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania. Frederick, who was about 21 years old at the time, went to Pennsylvania with his parents (Newberry c.1934).Frederick married Catherine "Kate" Squires on 2 August 1873 in Hopbottom, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania. Catherine was the daughter of George Washington Squire and Desire Camp. She was born 7 March 1852 in Nicholson, Pennsylvania and died 8 March 1908 in Lathrop (Scott-Fritzen 1998). In 1880, the Kinneys resided in Brooklyn Township, Susquehanna Pennsylvania. Their names are given as Fred and Kate Kinney in the census. Fred was a farmer. The Kinneys haad three children: Lester, Lee and Fred. Kate's mother also lived with the family. The census gives her name as Mrs. D. Squires. According to the census Desire Camp Squires was born in New York and both her parents were born in Connecticut (1880 United States Federal Census, Brooklyn Township, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, page 67D). According to Scott-Fritzen (1998) the Kinney farm was near the town of Lathrop, Pennsylvania. Fred and Kate Kinney are buried in Union Cemetery, Susquehana County, Pennsylvania (DiPetro 1998a). In 1910, Fred was a widower. He resided with his daughter Vida on the family farm in Lathrop Township, Susquehanna County. Vida was the only one of the five Kinney children still living at home (1910 United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 78 Lathrop Township, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, sheet 5B, 2 May 1910).
Frederick Kinney and Catherine Squires were the parents of 5 chidren born between 1874 and 1890. They had at least 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 64 second great-grandchildren, and 8 third great-grandchildren. Total identified descendants equals 137.

895. (i). LESTER B. KINNEY5, was born 8 September 1874, Brooklyn Township, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania (LDS Batch# 8514203) and died 3 June 1913. In 1880, Lester resided with his parents and grandmother Squires in Brooklyn Township (1880 United States Federal Census, Brooklyn Township, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, page 67D). He is buried in Union Cemetery, Susquehana County, Pennsylvania (DiPetro 1998a; Scott-Fritzen 1998).
896. (ii). ISAAC "LEE" KINNEY5, was born 2 March 1877 in Brooklyn Township, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania and died 5 June 1952 in Brooklyn (DiPetro 1998b; Scott-Fritzen 1998). He married first in 1899, Virgie Garretson. She was born 1887 in Pennsylvania and died 3 November 1927 (DiPetro 1998b; Scott-Fritzen 1998). Lee married his second wife, Dorothy Melvina Teel, on 6 August 1930. Lee and Virgie are buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Brooklyn Township, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania (DiPetro 1998b; Williams n.d.).

FREDERICK SQUIRE "FRED" KINNEY5, was born 14 August 1880, Brooklyn Township, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania (LDS Batch# 8514203; Scott-Fritzen 1998) and died 22 November 1966 in Lathrop, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania (Scott-Fritzen 1998). Fred married Maude Edna Ainey, on 3 February 1901. They are buried in Union Cemetery, Susquehanna County (DiPetro 1998a).
898. (iv.) HARRY GROVER KINNEY5, was born 7 November 1884 in Lathrop Township, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania and died 18 November 1961 in Johnson City, Broome County, New York. He married Elizabeth Mae "Lizzie" Williams on 1 August 1913 (Scott-Fritzen 1998).
1611. (v.) VIDA ADELAIDE KINNEY5, was born 31 December 1890 in Lathrop Township, Susquehanna, Pennsylvania and died 24 May 1986, in Palo Alto, California. Vida married Rev. Wade Hampton Barnes on 15 May 1915 (Scott-Fritzen 1998). Vida was his second wife (1920 United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 64, Brooklyn Township, Susquehanna County, Pennsylvania, sheet 4B, 16 May 1920).
