WILL OF JOHNSON HOWELL REED Wills Book No. 938 of 1918, page 236

Be it Remembered, That I, J.H. Reed of the Borough of Dalaas, County of Luzerne and State of Pennsylvania, being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding, do hereby make, publish and declare this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me any time feretofore made.

FIRST:– I direct that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my decease as conveniently may be.

SECOND:– I give and devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Almira Reed all my property, real, personal and mixed, whatsoever the same may be situate at the time of my death, for and during the term of her natural life or so long as she may remain my widow.

THIRD:– Upon the death or remarriage of my said wife, Almira Reed, I give devise and bequeath all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate unto my six children, to wit:– Mary Elizabeth Ace, wife of J. Wesley Ace; Clara Wilson wife of Corey Wilson, Lulu Ace sife of Corey Ace, Maggie Snyder sife of Allen Snyder, Emma Moyer wife of Harry Moyer, and Addie Wlter wife of JOseph Welter, to have and to hold the same unto my six children, share and share alike, to them, their heirs and assigns forever.

LASTLY, I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint J. Wesley Ace of Kingston, Luzerne County, PA., to be the executor of this my last will and testament.

In Witness Whereof, I, the said testator, J.H. Reed, have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal this ___ day of January Anno Domini, one thousand nine hundred and seven.

Signed, sealed, pubished and declared by the said testator as and for his last will and testament, in the presence of us who at his request and in this presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.

PROOF TO WILL OF JOHNSON HOWELL REED Wills Book No. 938 of 1918, page 236

Registers Office, Wilkes-Barre, Pa., 12th Nov'r 1918.

Luzerne County, ss:–

This day before me, Wm. E. Morgan, Register of Wills in and for the County aforesaid, personally came R.E. Dana and Andrew J. Crouse, who being sworn according to law, says that they were well acquainted with R.L. Cannon and C.T. Cannon, late residents of the City of Wilkes-Barre, in the County of Luzerne, Satate [sic] of Pennsylvania, deceased, who were subscribing sitnesses to the last will and testament of J.H. Reed, late of the Borough of Kingston, Luzerne County, State of Penn's, dec'd; that they are familiar with the handwritting of the said R.L. Cannon and C.T. Cannon, having frequently seen them write their own names as well as other matters; that the said R.L. Cannon is now deceased, that C.T. Cannon, is now resident of Baltimore, Md. That they have carefully examined the signatures R.L. Cannon and C.R. Cannon to the aforesaid last sill and testament dated the __ day of January A.D. 1907, and verily believe the same to be in the own proper handwriting of the said R.L. Cannon and C.R. Cannon

LETTERS TESTAMENTAY, ESTATE OF JOHNSON HOWELL REED Wills Book No. 938 of 1918, page 236

Luzerne County, ss:–

In accordance with the foregoing Will and the probate thereof, Letters Testamentary thereon, on the 11th day of November A.D. 1918, were granted unto J. Wesley Ace, the executor therein named, he having first been duly sworn to well and truly sdminister the goods and chattels, rights and credits which were of the said deceased according to law.

Given under my hand and the seal of the Register's Office this 12th day of November A.D. 1918.
