55. JOSEPH KIRKPATRICK3 (Phebe Read2, Joseph1)
was the only child born in Ohio. He was born in 1809 in Old Washington, Guernsey County, Ohio. Joseph was orphaned when he was about five years old. He married Elizabeth Horn, the daughter of John Horn. She was born 16 October 1816. Joseph and Elizabeth Kirkpatrick first settled in Bellfontaine, Logan County Ohio. They left Ohio after the deaths of their daughters, Nancy and Emma Kirkpatrick, in February 1854 and settled in Atchinson, Kansas. They may have been there by 1866, when their son, Joseph H. Kirkpatrick, married Elizabeth Beck. Joseph died there in 1887. Elizabeth returned to Ohio. She died in Logan County on 4 November 1891 and was buried in Bellefontaine Cemetery, Bellefontaine, Ohio.Return to Main
