She was also known as Sally Ann or Sallie. Sally Ann married, on 20 February 1841, Anthony Johnson Osmun, the son of Ziba and Elizabeth Osmun (Warren County Marriages). He was born 22 December 1816 and died 18 May 1867, age 50 years, 5 months and 16 days (Swayze Cemetery). They had at least 37 great-grand children who were born between 1892 and the mid-1930s. I have identified 15 second great-grandchildren (born 1910 through 1948), 17 third great-grandchildren and 10 fourth great-grandchildren. Total identified descendants equals 108. Four of the lines of the descendants of Joseph Read and Sarah Sutton inter-twine in the marriages of Sarah's descendants—the lines of David Read, Isaac Read, Sr., John Read and Aaron Read. Sarah shares 5 of her great-grandchildren and two of her second great-grandchildren in common with her first cousin Isaac Read, Jr.4 (Isaac Read, Sr.2, Joseph Read1) through marriage of her granddaughter Beatrice J. Allen to Issac's grandson Winfield E. Read (they were third cousins). In addition, Sarah shares 4 second great-grandchildren, 9 third great-grandchildren and all of her fourth great-grandchildren in common with her first cousin Isaac Read, III 3 (John Read2, Joseph Read1), through the marriage of Sarah's great-granddaughter Helen Swayze to Isaac's great-grandson Charles G. Hartung (thery were fourth cousins). Finally, Sarah shares five of her great-grandchildren in common with her first cousin Samuel Cooke Read3 (Aaron Read2, Joseph Read1), through the marriage of her grandson Harold Osmun to Samuel's great-granddaughter Ada Allen (they were fourth cousins once removed). In all, 30 of her descendants where double descendants of Joseph and Sarah (Sutton) Read.

She was born born 5 August 1819 (Kern 1938; Swayze Cemetery). In 1832, she was named as a minor child in a petition presented to the Orphans Court during the June Term. The court ordered David's 160 acre farm divided into six equal parts between Sally and her five surviving brothers and sisters: Isaac, Joseph, Ellen, and Jackson Read and Lavina Cummins (Warren County Surrogate Court Records, hereinafter WCSCR, Orphans Court Minutes, Book 1, page 236).

And oh how few are childhoods pleasures
When his gentle care is gone

At least one of Anthony and Sallie's children, Mary Adeline, left Hope and migrated to Michigan with her husband Jacob Derenberger (Tavernier, personal communication, 2001). Anthony and Sallie's son, Joseph Osmun, married and raised his family in Hope.
