Samuel C. Read Deceased
In the name of God Amen.
I Samuel C Read being of sound mind and memory doth make on the twenty second day of June, one thousand eight hundred and sixty nine. This my last will and testament in manner and form that is to say:
First I want all my funeral expenses paid by my executrix whom I shall hereafter apoint as soon after my decease as may be convenent for her to do so—
Second My will is that my beloved wife Mary Ann is to take full possesfion of my property and Sell some personal property if she thinks proper, and make a division of the personal property. Mary C and Ruth A. an equal share and my grandson Richard Alvin One thousand dollars at the age of twenty one years with interest. the interest to scool [sic] cloth [sic] &c if he lives with my wife or either daughter, if he leaves them the interest Kept for him until he is twenty one years old. Mary C. to have her share of personal property within one year of my death. Ruth A. to have her share of personal property at the age of twenty one years with interest;—
Third My will is that my wife is to take full possession of my Real Estate that is my farm 91 Acres the income or rent for herself as long as she remains my widow if she marries then one third of the rent or income to her the rest to my two daughters,—
Fourth My farm after my wifes death is to go to my two daughter as long as they live, after their death to their dhildren, if my daughters want to divide the farm let it be done so that each one gets half in value. The personal property consists of all my notes Bonds and interest to be divided between my heirs Mary C. Ruth A. an equal share and Richard Alvin one thousand dollars as above mentioned.
Fifth I appoint and make my beloved wife Mary Ann Read my sole Executrix to this my last will and testament but in case of mariage [sic] or death or my wife then my two daughters to act in place and sted of my beloved wife and all to carry this will in affect

Elisha Cook one of the witnesfes to the within will being dully sworn did depose and say that he saw Samuel C. Read the testator therein named wign and seal the same and heaard heim publish pronounce and declare the within writing to be his last wil and testament and that at the doing thereof the said testator was of sound and disposing mind and memory as far as this deponent Knows, and as he verily believes; and that John W. Cook the other subscribing witnes was present at the same time, and signed his name as witnefs to the said will together with deponent in the presence of the testator and of each other &, at his request.

Mary Ann Read, Executrix in the within testament named being duly sworn on her oath, then did depose and say, that the within testament contains the true last will and testament of Samuel C. Read the testator therein named, so far as she Knows, and as she verily believes that she will well and truely perform the same by paying first the debts of the said deceased and then the legacies in the said testament specified, so fat as the goods, chattles and credits of the said deceased can thereunto extend, and that she will make and exhibit unto the Surrogates office of the county of Warren a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the goods, chattles, and credits of the said deceased that have or shall come to her knowledge or possefion or to the possefion of any other person or persons for her use, and under a Just and true account when thereunto lawfully required

I Wm L. Hoagland Surrogate of the County of Warren Do Certify the annexed to be a true copy of the last will and testament of Samuel C. Read late of the County of Warren deceased and that Mary Ann Read the executrix therein named proved the same before me and is duly authorized to take upon herself the administration of the estate of the testator agreeably to the said will.
Witnefs my hand and Seal of Office this nineteenth day ot August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty nine.
