MARY ELIZABETH "LIZZIE" REED ACE6

925. MARY ELIZABETH "LIZZIE" REED6 (Johnson Howell Reed5, Issac Read/Reed IV4, Richard Read3, Isaac Read, Sr.2, Joseph Read1), was born 1862 probably in Dallas Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania and died 1938 (1860 United States Federal Census, Dallas Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, page 69; Wyoming County GenWeb). In 1880, Lizzie resided with her parents in Hanover Township, Luzerne County (1880 United States Federal Census, Hanover Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, page 475C). She married circa 1883, James "Wesley" Ace (1910 United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 60, Kingston Borough, 2nd Ward, sheet 15B, 27 April 1910; Luzerne County Probate Records, hereinafter LCPR, Book 38, page 236). Wesley was the son of Adam B. Ace and Elizabeth McKeely. He was born 1863 and died 1942 (Wyoming County GenWeb). In 1880, Adam and Elizabeth Ace lived in Hanover Township on a farm with their son Wesley and daughter Alberta (age 15), not far from the Reed farm (1880 United States Federal Census, Hanover Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, page 474D, 475A). Adam Ace later owned a store on Orchard Street in Warrior Run, Hanover Township. On 30 August 1892, the south side of Orchard Street was destroyed by a fire. Seven buildings were lost, including the store and home of Adam Ace (Luzerne County GenWeb). In 1907, Lizzie's father wrote his will. Johnson named J. Wesley Ace as the executor of his estate (LCPR Book 38, page 236). Johnson gave the Ace's residence as Kingston in his will. The 1910 census places Wesley and Lizzie at 46 Hoyt Street in Kingston. Wesley was a teamster, engaged in general hauling. He also employed others in his business (1910 United States Federal Census, Enumeration District 60, Kingston Borough, 2nd Ward, sheet 15B, 27 April 1910). Wesley and Lizzie are buried in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania (Wyoming County GenWeb).
