Marksboro Presbyterian Church Yard is located on New Jersey Route 94 in Marksboro, Frelinghuysen Township, Warren County, New Jersey. This is nota complete transcription of inscriptions. Instead it represents selected stones transcribed in June 1983 and July 1999 by Esther Doyle Read. Occasionally you
will see archaic eighteenth and nineteenth century spellings as "oer" for over. There are 35 stones included in this transcription, representing 42
individuals.

Coursen, J. Harvey, 1846 - 1908. Anna M., his wife, 1859 - 1932. Frank L., their son 1880 - no date cut. Mae, their daughter 1896 - no date cut (single stone).
Coursen, Father and Mother. Jacob Coursen, died March 13 1848, aged 70 years. Hannah, wife of Jacob Coursen, died December 31, 1891, aged 85 years (obelisk).

Read, David, 1806 - 1875 (single stone). Mary, wife of David Read, died 21 May 1865 (single stone). Mary C., daughter of David & Mary Read, died 23 September 1838, aged 2 years, 5 months & 13 days (single stone). John O. Read, son of David & Mary Read, died 28 August 1843, aged 2 years, 5 months & 25 days (single stone). Emma W., daughter of David & Mary Read, died 3 March 1850, aged 1year, 1 month, & 18 days (single stone).
Smalley, Flora E., 1858 - 1937 (buried in Read family plot).
Smalley, Isaac W., died October 18, 1871 aged 40 years, 3 months & 7
days. His toils are oer his work is done,/ And he is truely blest,/ He has fought the fight and victory won/ And entered into rest (single stone). Margaret Ann, wife of Isaac W. Smalley, died April 24 1866 aged 31 years, 3 months & 5 days (single stone). Margaret was the daughter of David and Mary Read; they are buried in Read family plot.
Smalley, Rachel L., 1844 - 1924 . Daughter of David and Mary Read, second wife of Isaac W. Smalley, buried in Read family plot.
Stinson, Eleanor, [rest illegible], buried next to William W. Wilson (single stone). In same plot with George and Matilda Wilson, William W. Wilson, John P. and Catherine M. Lewis, E.O. Wilson, and Sarah Ella Wilson.
Willson, William, died 11 January 1821 aged 29 years, 8 months & 12
days (single stone). Mary, wife of William Willson, died 20 April 1827 aged 27 years, 6 months & 27 days (single stone). David, son of William & Mary Willson, died 30 May 1820, aged 6 days (single stone). Abigail, daughter of William & Mary Willson, died 2 October 1827 aged 10 years, 1 month & 15 days (single stone).
Wilson, E.O., died 26 August 1865 aged 42 years, 3 months & 7 days (single stone). GAR flag. In same plot with George and Matilda Wilson, Eleanor Stinson, William Wilson, John P. and Catherine M. Lewis, and Sarah Ella Wilson.
Wilson, "Dear Father" George, died 13 June 1913 in his 90th year (single stone). Matilda, wife of George W. Wilson, died 4 March 1879 aged 58 years, 7 months and [illegible] (single stone). In same plot with William Wilson, Eleanor Stinson, John P. and Catherine M. Lewis, E.O. Wilson, and Sarah Ella Wilson.
Wilson, Jacob S., died 8 April 1811 aged 31 years [illegible].
Wilson, Sarah Ella. daughter of E.O. and C.M. Wilson [possibly Catherine Lewis], died 9 January 1881aged 23 years, 1 month & 18 days. Text: And we all do fade as a leaf. Isaiah LXIV:6 (single stone).
