About
the Artist
Paula Anne Franklin became an artist later in her life,
building on and utilizing her experiences as a health/social psychologist,
a writer, adult educator and family manager. She has been interested
in art in its many forms since childhood. Photography has been an adult
avocation. Memorial art emerged while completing her art degree at Towson
University in computer art and painting.
Remembering her experiences with Compassionate Friends, she interviewed
bereaved who had lost a family member younger than the age of 30. She
then created several digital panels for each participant from their
photographs of the person and shared events. This culminated in an Honors
Program Memorial Art Exhibit, Lost Gifts: Memorials to Those Loved,
in May 2003. These images can be viewed in this web sites Gallery.
Paula continues to work with people coping with major transitions through
her consulting specialty Tutoring in Transitions. Her services
include memorial art, catch the moment photography, transition
support, resolving loss, stress resistance, dream analysis, strategic
life planning and career restructuring.
