War 8 concept by "Cinderella", WarMistress ======================================= THESE ARE THE WAR RULES (and an explanation) READ THIS CAREFULLY AND SAVE IT! ALL information can be found at: http://members.aol.com/FKFICwar8 ftp://members.aol.com/FKFICwar8 There has been an unexplained Rift in the Space-Time Continuum. Time has stopped in its tracks. It is now the Night of Friday The Thirteenth, and it will continue to be so for the rest of the war. WAR RULE: For this reason, posts are NOT to be dated or timed: the official "sequence" of War posts will be the order in which they are listed in the FKFIC-L Digests. (A list will be posted regularly.) Any and all conflicts arising from this odd method of determining War post sequence will be chalked up to the Rift in the Space-Time Continuum. (A note about Time: For the duration of the War, the sky outside will be dark, and there will be a full moon out. Clocks will not work. And for the purposes of official time-keeping, the order in which posts drop to FKFIC-L (as determined by the digests) will be the order in which stories will be deemed to have taken place. HOWEVER: People are still going to have *duration*, e.g. we all eat and sleep every so often whether it's day or night out, whether the clocks have stopped or not. It is acceptable to state that "I slept for a few hours and woke up, and then this happened," or that "This post takes place just after Mary slipped the tuna into Joan's purse" or that "The party will take place on the day that would have been next Saturday if time were running" (although expect that some people may show up early or late!) You may or may not have noticed Something Strange happening tonight (you probably will eventually notice that clocks are not working properly and the sun does not rise) but it is extremely likely that you will find yourself running into someone who appears to be a Forever Knight Character. WAR RULE: NO FK CHARACTERS ARE CANON. Because this War is occurring in Nontime, it is presumed that ALL FK characters appearing within are non-canon UNTIL and UNLESS SO DESIGNATED by the WarMistress. Therefore, ANYONE can invent ANY alternate FK character that they want to write about, without needing to get permission from anyone. However, you may NOT use an alternate FK character someone ELSE has created, unless you get permission first. WAR RULE: One alternate FK character per player, unless you get special dispensation from the WarMistress. These alternate versions of the Forever Knight characters may be vastly different from the norm, but the one thing that they all have in common is that they feel impelled to go to Toronto, and to the place they think of as "home". WAR RULE: Forever Knight characters are appearing in vast quantities; however, all objects and War players are SINGULAR. For example: there is only one Caddy, one Raven, one CERK, one loft, etc.; nor are there any "alternate" versions of War players running about. Although you can write any alternate version of any FK character you want, keep in mind that the various home-bases of the characters are controlled by their affiliations -- the Cousins control CERK, the Knighties control the Loft, etc., and you CAN NOT place a character there without getting permission from the affiliation leader first. WAR RULE: This Is A Strictly PG-13 War. Keep it clean, folks. You are allowed to hypothesize on what has caused The Endless Forever Friday Night, you are allowed to find clues of any sort you wish that might or might not prove ultimately helpful; but nothing DEFINITE will be discovered for at least the next few days. And finally, perhaps most importantly: WAR RULE: The Rift in the Space-Time Continuum is controlled by the WarMistress, and will be Ruthlessly Manipulated As Necessary. All War Posts made by the WarMistress are War 8 Canon. If there turns out to be a multiplicity of one particular FK character, to the point where things become unmanageable, it's possible that the R. in the S.T.C. will become unstable and "swallow up" a number of the alternates at random. If a situation becomes untenable, it's likely that the R. in the S.T.C. will do something weird to wipe the slate clean. This is basically a limiting factor being built in to allow for a means of keeping the War from getting completely out of control. In the case of disputes, all attempts at mediation and resolution will be attempted before invoking the Rift in the Space-Time Continuum Loophole; but all such final decisions rest with the WarMistress. HERE ARE THE PERMISSION RULES AGAIN: To use another listmember: ASK THEM FIRST. To use an alternate FK character: You can create ONE. To use a location or thing (Caddy, Raven, FoD Deli, etc.): ASK THE FACTION LEADER. NO CHARACTERS FROM OTHER SHOWS NO REAL-LIFE PEOPLE If you're not sure it's appropriate or correct: ASK ME. Have fun.
