Title: Redecorating The Raven By: Arletta Asbury g4akl@charm.net DISCLAIMER: The characters of Nick, Natalie, Lacroix, etc. are characters of the Forever Knight show and as such are the property of TPTB. They are not mine I am just borrowing them for a little while. ******************************************************************** time: 12:30pm.(daylight) Sunday, July 28,1996 Toronto, Ontario --------------------- John stopped the rented van in front of the Raven. He turned to Kris who sat beside him and said, "You know what to do. Good Luck." "Sure. I'll be back in a minute," Kris replied as she climbed out and walked up to the door of the Raven. "She's brave," said Judith to Heather, "I wouldn't want to go in there alone." Heather nodded in agreement. Meanwhile Kris dressed in borrowed coveralls and carrying a clipboard knocked on the door of the club. When it was opened a few seconds later she entered confidently. Kris emerged a few minutes later and motioned for the others to join her inside. "Did you have any problems?" Judith asked in a low tone. "No, I just mentioned that the redecorating crew had arrived to repaint the bar and everyone retreated to the back rooms. I think they were afraid they'd get paint on their 'elegant' clothes," Kris whispered back. "Typical Ravenette behavior," Heather remarked quietly and the others nodded in agreement. "I'll fetch the paint from the van," John offered. "I'll start on the stereo system," Judith added. A couple of minutes later John was back with brushes, paint gun, and several cans of the most nauseating fluorescent lime green paint that they could find at any of the local paint stores. John, Heather and Kris began painting the whole interior of the night club while Judith worked on the stereo system. "What about all these stupid chains?" Kris asked the others. "I think we should consider them part of the walls and paint 'em too," Heather said in reply. "Yeah," John added in agreement. Judith had a wicked grin on her face, this was fun. She sincerely hoped that the Ravenettes would like Barry Manilow's music as much as she thought they would. When Judith finished setting the equipment so that it would play a continuous medley of Manilow's songs she joined the others in time to help finish painting the walls. The ceiling was already displaying the sickening green paint. When they had finished their task they paused only long enough to survey their work, with satisfaction. "Should we paint the bar's countertop too?" asked Judith. "Nah, that would be too cruel," said Kris. Heather and John grinned but reluctantly agreed. Then Heather opened up the container of Super Wax she had brought. The four of them quickly polished the floor to a high, extremely slippery gloss while working their way out the front door as they did so. Once back inside the van, John said as they drove away, "I hope they REALLY enjoy the new look we've given the Raven."
