WAR: LC Orders Flowers (1/1) by Arletta Asbury and Cousin Shelley Arletta walked into one of the assorted rooms in CERK headquarters and found Lacroix just finishing a phone call. "When will it arrive?" he asked and nodded at the reply. "Fine. Thank-You," he said as he hung up the receiver. "Who was that?" Arletta asked, curiosity winning out over politeness. "A florist. Not that it's any of *your* business," he looked slightly embarrassed at the admission. "A florist? Sending flowers to someone?" Arletta had a mischievous grin on her face as she suppressed a giggle. "Yes. Urs," he replied. "Urs?" Arletta asked, genuinely surprised. "I thought some flowers would be appropriate," he replied, sounding more than just a little annoyed at all her questions. "That was very *nice* of you," Arletta said, shaking her head as she turned and walked out of the room. * * * Not far away, Arletta found Shelley with the Registry book tucked under her arm. "Do you think he's acting kinda wierd for Lacroix?" she asked. "I mean he seems a little too nice." Shelley replied, "You're just noticing that? I made a note of it in the registry a long time ago." * * * A little while later, Arletta walked back into the room where Lacroix was sitting. "Uhhh, I don't know how to break this to you but....", Arletta began. Lacroix sighed, that girl was becoming a real nuisance, "What is it?" he said, "About sending Urs flowers...." she answered. "Yes," Lacroix said, beginning to sound a bit annoyed. "Uhhh, I just found out that she's not the only one." "The only one, what?" Lacroix asked. "The only Urs. Don't you remember the Time Rift briefing? I have a list of them .... well some of them. Urses I mean. I thought you might want it." she stated. A look of vexation crossed his face, as Lacroix took the page from Arletta. "Thank-You for the information," he stated as if finally managing to be polite, was an effort. Arletta turned and left the room as Lacroix lifted the telephone receiver and dialed. "I'd like to order some flowers delivered," Lacroix said, with a sigh, "I have a list of recipients.."
