nyc & you
sounds
screams in the night
wandering through the trash on flatbush ave across from the record shop
tires horns honk screech squeal thru my brain/behind my eyes
took the d-train uptown to find you
wandering past 110th people are staring at me
STOP STARING AT ME!!
is it because i’m crying
downtown in the village
in the clubs
i here the art ensemble and anthony davis, but you aren’t there
i go to fat tuesday’s on the east side
and find it very hard to be without you
new york rolls ‘round my brain
like marbles in the street/and i
hate midtown manhattan and prospect park/ and
everything we shared
i can’t find you there
