on a tour to the battlefields of the glorious campaign of 1807. The routes have been carefully crafted to combine history with scenic appeal. The great deeds of the past are almost palpable, there is a memory lingering in the air of these places that makes a visit unforgettable. We will follow in the footsteps of the armies, through towns filled with reminders of a bygone age, past forests and streams, old inns and churches standing just as they were in 1807. We will travel at a comfortable pace, taking time to explore along the way. We will meet local historians and enthusiasts who are familiar with the terrain and conversant with details concerning their locality which are often not recorded in the history books. We will lodge in period inns and enjoy home-cooked specialties of the region.

follow the action you will receive bound galleys of "The Habit of Victory," Mr. Zucker's history of the campaign soon to be published by Greenhill Books (London), and the first account of the campaign published in English in 98 years. It contains battlefield maps and a day-by-day account of events over the eight months of campaigning.

We hope to have no more than 10 or 12 participants. Over the years we have built-up a small coterie of dedicated battlefield travelers!  They are a great bunch, and never grumble even when we announce "wheels up at 0800." That means we are on the road punctually, no time for a last cup of coffee.

The history is exciting, but the best part is meeting people.  All the localities have put us in touch with local historians in their area.  They are enthusiastic to share their knowledge about their historical past.  Two Napoleonic enthusiasts from the Warsaw area will accompany us and provide translation.
